About the Masterclass:

Building on the discussion from Part 1, this session will continue exploring the challenges of psychological safety inside the operating theatre. Hierarchy, authority, and unspoken protocols can influence how surgical teams communicate, handle disagreements, and respond to concerns in high-pressure situations.

Drawing on Prof. Baer’s research on psychological safety, organizational behaviour, and team dynamics, Part 2 will further examine how surgeons and surgical leaders can navigate these challenges, encourage open communication, and foster an environment where speaking up is valued and acted upon.
